International recognition. Team India members compete against the world's best school students in AI.
Higher education opportunities. Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) and MBZUAI (Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence) currently give special consideration to IOAI medallists and students who represent India at IOAI. Leading universities already offer direct admission to medallists of olympiads such as the IMO and the IOI, and IOAI is expected to follow suit.
Research exposure. Several members of the first Team India (IOAI 2025) received research internship offers from AI start-ups and IIIT Hyderabad.
Learning that goes beyond the classroom. The stages progress from AI fundamentals to hands-on machine-learning modelling, with online coaching and an in-person training camp for top performers.
For schools. Hosting an exam centre puts your school on the national AI-olympiad map and makes it easy for your students and those from nearby schools to take part.
Stage 1, conducted by the exam agency at designated centres, is the entry point for most students. Stages 2 to 4 and the Team India preparation are run directly by INAIO.
Direct entry to Stage 2. Eligible students who meet any of these criteria can skip Stage 1 (full criteria on inaio.in):
Participants of the INAIO 2026 Training Camp
INOI 2026 and INOI 2027 medallists (Informatics)
Participants of the PLO 2026 Training Camp (Linguistics)
Students who qualified for INMO 2025–26 or 2026–27 through RMO (Mathematics)
