The 3rd edition of International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026), will be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, from 2nd until 8th of August, 2026. IOAI 2026 is being organized by Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI).
It is with immense pride that we share the exceptional debut for India at the 2nd International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2025), held from August 2–9, 2025 in Beijing, China. This year’s event—the largest high-school AI competition in the world—featured 310 students from 63 countries.
Representing India for the first time, our students achieved 3 Gold (Arjun Tyagi, Roumak Das, Soham Sen), 2 Silver (Rayan Banerjee, Samik Goyal), and 1 Bronze (Himaneesh Sompalle), medals along with an Honourable Mention (Ishaan Gangwani), placing India 3rd on the medal leaderboard and 6th in average task score.

The Indian National AI Olympiad (INAIO) is being organized by ACM India in partnership with ACM IKDD to select the best young AI talent to compete on the global platform. Our vision is to make India AI-ready by fostering young talent and encouraging innovation in artificial intelligence among school students.
INAIO selects students through a national AI Olympiad and prepares them to compete in International Olympiad in AI (IOAI), the most prestigious annual competition in AI for high school students.

Participating in both INAIO and the IOAI offers numerous benefits, including international recognition, scholarships, and opportunities for higher education. Many prestigious colleges and universities offer direct admissions to students who are selected for certified international Olympiads such as IMO and IOI, and this is likely to be the case with IOAI as well in the upcoming years. This is a unique chance for students to showcase their talents, learn about cutting-edge technologies, and connect with like-minded individuals globally.

Eligibility
Eligibility
INAIO is open to all Indian citizens studying in India in Grades 9 to 12, from any school board, provided they were born after August 5, 2006.
If you have completed Class 12, you are no longer eligible (even if you are on a break and not enrolled in college, or if you are planning to redo your Class 12 exams for improvement).
Toppers from previous Olympiads of any grade are directly eligible for Stage 2 if they meet the following criteria:

Participants of the PLO 2025 Training Camp
Students qualified to take INMO 2024–2025 or INMO 2025–2026 based on their RMO performance
Bebras India Computing Challenge highest score achievers (Mahavira and Ramanujam categories only)
